EXTRACT

(Half way through the second act Tex the loanshark's threats of
physical violence are getting him nowhere. The Doak family are too busy
sabotaging each other to get together the twenty quid he wants, and Tex is
getting to the end of his tether.)

TEX: Am I communicating right? Can I introduce myself: I am not a
social worker. - Fear. I say that, because no fear? - you're one
emotion short. A normal family: they're all over the place, chaos, then I go
and see them. And they've got a structure then, so fine so it's
temporary so is the universe: even the solar syastem isn't stable, could fly
off the handle at any moment and Jupiter: it's not even SOLID,
volcanic gases or somefuckin'thing...chaos. Normal family, I go in there and
give them a crisis and they're like that: they like it: because at
least it's something...takes their mind off their other problems.
